La Vie En Rose

IMG_1670x

I never really heard of this quote before, beside that I’m not a person who will take a quote very seriously. But when I heard the meaning behind this one it really made me think about  it. La Vie En Rose basicly stands for that you’ve got to remember, that whenever you are going through a rough time, you’ve still got the option to watch life through rose colored glasses. It’s all about the mindset you’ve got. Nothing is black and white, it can be rose colored if that’s the way you choose to look at it. You control your own mind.

Now I,  how shall I say it, am kind of a ‘cloudy’ person. If you would hand me half a glass of soda I’m the one who says ‘it’s half empty’ – instead of half full. That’s my personal way of looking at it, it’s also kind of in my character but I’m able to change it if I want to. Why? Because: ‘La Vie En Rose.’

I feel like most of the time that we’re in a bad mood it’s because we let things upset us more than we should accept. I am a living example of that. When I think about it I’m easily upset, about things such as: schoolprojects, the weather, train delays… As I read this back I realize it’s most of the time about things that I cannot even change myself. I can’t magically fix an extra train, I can’t change the weather nor can’t I change that annoying project that asks way to much of my time.

I guess that what I’m saying is that you’ve got a choice. You look at life the way you accept yourself looking at it. Nobody else tells you to get upset of feel negative about things, you do it all yourself. This is kind of a reminder that once you’ve changed your mindset you are able to stay positive or at least a little more brightsided in a lot of situations. Your mood, body and mind will thank you later. There’s no reason to get frustrated over things you can’t change (anymore.) Believe me, tomorrow will come anyway.

Love,

Sofie.

Door het heerlijke weer nu zit ik beter in mijn vel dan het sombere weer. Ik wou dat ik altijd positief ben, maar gewoon blijven… blijven proberen.

This is such a wonderful post, Sofie! I love how real you are in sharing what you’re willing to work on in your outlook on life. I can be the same way in my perception at times and this quote really did make me think and I will remember it moving forward, thank you! As for your outfit, I love everything about it, honestly. It has such a pretty spring feel to it with ’70s boho vibes, which I love! I’m loving denim embroidery this season, so I’m swooning over your shorts! Thanks so much for sharing, gorgeous, and I hope you have the most amazing week ahead!

It’s my first time hearing that quote ” La Vie En Rose”, kind of inspirational and yes, the key is we should keep the positive thinking right? By the way, your laced up blouse and the platform shoes look great! <3

I loved your shorts and the quote – yes, we are easily worried and because of things we cannot change. I have a “frenemy” that really upsets me, and I am sure I upset her too; she really annoys me, but can I change it? No. I think we need to relax a bit more :) You wrote a very nice post, thanks for that quote!

Thank you for your sweet reply! It’s a real waste of time to worry about things we cannot change, especially if it’s about negative feelings. I hope this was helpful! x

Firstly you look beautiful, I love your blouse! La vie en rose is a very nice quote. I try to stay as positive and optimistic as I can but sometimes it gets hard and I have days where I think everything sucks and I just want to cry. I think we all do xx
