This post is all about getting creative with you’re own pictures. I’d like to show you how I give my pictures a little more edge by using a graphic pen tablet. Now, you don’t need to purchase one if you want to give this a try. Using your desktop mouse or mousepad will work just fine for a try out. Keep in mind you don’t have to be a pro to do this, I used Photoshop to draw on my pictures but you can also use Illustrator or a much more easy option like the good old Paint.
So, how do we start? Let somebody take a picture of you or take a picture of them, mess around with your color scheme and the frame. If you want to draw the head, like I did, make sure you have a close shot of the face. I recommend wearing (sun)glasses and try not to show your teeth on the picture. Eyes and especially teeth are very hard to draw in a pretty way. You can give it a try then you’ll see it yourself.
What’s next? In Photoshop you have the pipette tool. This tool traces the color of the pixel you just clicked on, it helps you find out with what exact color you are dealing. Paint and Illustrator both have this tool as well. This way I coloured my face, by indicating the skintone and then playing around with where to put it. If you want to keep it simple, basicly just follow your natural skincolor and contouring lines. Keep it casual, I feel like it looks more artsy when you color outside the lines and go a little crazy.
Let’s be real! Our very own art looks much better on the walls, right?
Have fun trying this out and let me know if you gave it a shot, I would love to see your creations!
